3.5/5– bitch will all due respect if i had to wait until i was FIFTY to finally be with the person i lover….i simply wouldn’t make it. i’d end it before i got there.
can’t believe it took them that long, that’s fucking insanity.
this was fun, i enjoyed the format of it being told in only letters/emails, it made it very easy & quick to read. i did like the movie a lot better tho, like if i didn’t love the movie so much, i wouldn’t like this as much. it took too long for them to get together it actually pissed me off. and this is coming from someone who LOVES slow burn & the miscommunication trope….i no (hehe) that’s an unpopular statement, but it just does something to me!!! i love pain and angst! but anyhow, i think ‘Normal People’ and ‘One Day’ did those things a lot better than this did.
also i just realized rosie is giving lorelai gilmore. single, teen mom, dreamed of opening her own hotel (inn), slow burn friends to lovers that took much longer than it needed to. like they’re twinning fr

Love Rosie, otherwise known as Where Rainbows End, is a long time favorite of mine re-read so many times the characters feels like old friends. Told in the style of letters, emails, texts, instant messages etc it really is a rather easy read, but beware of the angst.
Love Rosie is the story of Rosie and Alex, through their correspondence we see the life span of two best friends, beginning when the pair were children it's obvious the two are meant to be together but life and the cruelness of fate steps in their way each time they come close, separating the two and pushing them further and further apart.
Throughout the story we see lovers come and go, marriages, new friends, old friends, moves, new jobs, children. The span of two lives and how each thing we do sets of a reaction that can help us get closer or push us further from the one we love. It truly is a domino effect.
I find this book rather painful, as beautiful as it is i feel it's rather tragic, knowing that these two people should have been together since their teens yet the obstacles that are set in their paths prevent them from being together, sometimes their own stupidity is the main fault. But mainly how circumstance can change the path of a persons life from one moment to the next the path can change within a second.
I have this thing about time, maybe i'm drawing on a midlife crisis in my early twenty's, who knows. But time really bothers me, especially when it comes to love, i think that we should spend as much time as is humanly possible with those who we love, so those of you who have read Love Rosie will understand why it infuriates me so much. To see the time where if they took the chance they could have been together fly by, missed. I think it's bloody heartbreaking.
I can pick this up open it at any page, at any time and become enthralled. It really has a strange effect on me, i laugh i cry and i mean i cry. ALOT. sometimes it's happy most times it's sad. But it doesn't have that effect on alot of people, i'm just a hopeless romantic and it tears me in two seeing the missed opportunity by two people who are so clearly soul mates.
Rosie is, well she's an outstanding character one of my favorites actually. Her relationships are incredible i do love her and Ruby's friendship, it's hilarious!! She lives a hard life but struggles through trying to see the bright side even though she sees all that shes missed out on.
This book along with the Twilight saga helped me get through a pretty shitty time in my life where books were the only things that seemed to keep me grounded so it will always hold a very special place in my heart and will forever be a favorite of mine.
I do highly recommend this book, it's a beautiful story and in my eyes rather tragic but it is incredibly wrote and with a light and easy reading style it really does keep you captivated, so yes i recommend you read it but i also recommend you grab some chocolate wine and tissues to go with!

One of my favorite books ever. The story of Alex and Rosie is shown in such a unique way that draws you in as if you're reading a fairytale yet it's so realistic. A must read. Recommending it to all my friends always.
Rarely does a book make me simultaneously heartbroken and happy. Oh how I wish for a "silence" like the one in this story, the kind that I talk about and think about for thirty years. The romance of this book was beautiful, but was made imperfect by the unforgiving truth of reality. And in that way I think it was perfect. Reading this, I laughed in public, cried in private, and marveled at the multitudes of relationships that can be had over the course of a lifetime. If you can handle having the best and the worst of all feelings, you need to read this book.
Started off really strong. By the time I got to the 17 chapter I skipped to the last few chapters to see how it ends. It is a very long winded book. And their timing really sucks.
