This epistolary novel was very charming and although it was a bit predictable, I did not care. It was a very quick and fun read.

Quick and easy read, but it had me hooked right from the start and I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through :)

The other reviews hit it pretty spot on. Wonderful characters who are so lovable you just can't help become enamored with them and fairly well written for a girly romance type of novel. However it almost killed me at points how long it took for the ultimate pay off. Ahern has you waiting until the very last sentence in the book until you get what you want! That was a bit on the frustrating side and yet here I am up late because I didn't want to put it down until I was finished. I listened to the audiobook of this which was a little weird at first because it's an epistolary novel, but because it's only text driven I'd recommend to really get the full voice of all the characters.

What’s meant for you will always be yours

I really loved Rosie Dunne and found myself thinking of her as a friend during the 45-year journey that takes place in this book. There were a couple things that got in the way of a higher rating, though: 1) Some things I wanted to know more about sped by with little detail, and vice versa (some of the IMs grew a little tedious); 2) I read the book on my Kindle, and I don't think the formatting translated quite right. It was difficult at times to determine where one conversation ended and another started.

love the movie, love the story, but the book is written in such a strange way it’s so hard to follow :(

Accidentally deleted my review. Will review again after I finished rereading. xo

Update 10.7.14: Okay, I'm trying to be okay about reading this again. But can't. How can you love a book so much you hate it and you wanna throw it out the window?? Smiley Seriously, how could this book exist? I hate it! Smiley Yet I love it so much I had to torture myself again and read. Smiley Because hello? There's such thing as the movie. So you know, mandatory reread.

Alex and Rosie are the best of friends. They're soulmates. They've had each other since they're five. They hang out a lot, pass notes, chat and be suspended together. They but seriously are SO meant to be! Like this book would've ended if only..
Spoiler Rosie remembered they were making out that time on her 16th birthday. Or when they're 30 and Alex left her the letter that freaking Greg hid I just can't! Smiley

This book gave me a lot of feels. I smiled, I cried, I was mad, I felt giddy and blah blah blah. But it's more like I hate it the entire time I just had to cry and cry Smiley

And you know, after seeing THE END at obviously the last page, I felt like [a:Cecelia Ahern|7116|Cecelia Ahern|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1414058421p2/7116.jpg] was smiling - but more like laughing and saying I did this to you HAHA!
Why oh why oh why?? Smiley

But as one of my favorite quote in here says:
After all, soulmates always end up together.

But then, there's hope in humanity. If ever you feel like throwing this out already, don't. At least not yet. We have Katie and Toby here. They cut all the dramas Alex and Rosie had to endure all those years. They're the salvation of this book. xxSmiley

While reading this book i felt like the snoopy i despise in real life. I was reading emails text messages, letters everything that you shouldn't if its not sent directly to you but it was just so good i could see the appeal that people see when they are being busy bodies going through other peoples private messages. I wanted to live with Rosie i wanted to be her best friend. Even though she was in love with her best friend. Ugh the feels in this book. All their struggles were just too much it made my heart hurt a little for the two main characters. But definitely for Rosie. The relationships in this book made you squirm a little but there were also the great lifetime relationships that some people can only dream about.
