lighthearted sad

Es un libro que te habla de sueños y es una maravilla como escribe ella

Ever since I watched the movie I wanted to read the book, and it did not disappoint at all! After reading a horrible book it was so nice to jump into this! It's such an easy book to read and before you know it you spend hours reading. I read the last 200 pages in one sitting for the last 4 hours. Now it is three a.m. And I'm satisfied. The ending was great.
Because the movie was way more fast paced it was really surprising to see the differences and just like with Gone Girl, the choices they made for the movie were just as great as the book. Those stories that do well on paper as well as on the screen are the better stories in my opinion.
Can't wait to see the movie again soon!

the movie is so much better it's almost laughable

I loved this book so much! Rosie & Alex were just so perfect. My full review will be up soon!

I picked this book up because I had been seeing the movie trailer around the internet a lot and it seemed like something I'd really enjoy. Plus, it had Sam Claflin and Lily Collins! How could it not be good!?!

In this book, Rosie and Alex are best friends. They've been best friends since like age 5, which is kind of adorable. They always do everything together and they're always by the other's side. Then, when they both turn 16, Alex finds out that his family is being moved all the way to Boston from Dublin, Ireland, which is a huge surprise. They really don't want to be separated, so they stay in contact.

This book is literally one of my new favorites. I've had such good luck so far this year when it comes to books-I've had almost all 5 star reviews which is pretty outstanding. Love, Rosie was such a great read. It took me a while to read because I had read it while I was sick and passing out every five minutes, but this book was on my mind a lot. I felt so much for the characters, for everything that both Alex and Rosie were going through. They go their whole lives not exactly being happy. This book takes place over about 40 years, which is pretty interesting to read about. I'm only 17, so it's different for me to read about adult live because it's not all that relatable, but I felt so much.

This book really made me realize how if you feel something for someone, you should just tell them. These two went their whole lives being unhappy when if they had just told each other what they felt for one another right off the bat, their lives would have been so different. This book also shows all the struggles and difficulties that come with life. You may have all these big, grand dreams that you want to achieve but the road to achieving them won't come without many hardships. You will always be knocked down, but it's best to try to move on and get back up again. This book also shows that even if it takes 40 years, the wait is worth it if it's to achieve your dreams.

I'm so excited for this movie to be released in America (it was released in the UK like 4 months ago! America is so behind :/). I'm definitely going to see it the day that it comes out, and maybe a few times after that. I'm just so happy that I gave this book a read and that it found its way into my hands. It's written through e-mails, instant messages, and letters, which I didn't know going in. I love reading books like that. I'm really interested in seeing how this will be portrayed through a movie.

I don't like the format of the book. I like to read and see what goes on in the characters life with details of their surroundings not just what goes on in their head. I like some action. This book was good but I feel with a different format I would have enjoyed a lot more. I felt there was a lot of unnecessary conversations happening that contributed nothing to the story. The ending is upsetting. I would have liked to have seen more of what happens after. In conclusion, I liked the book but I feel it could have been better.

I loved this book but also hated it so much. There was just something there that continued to keep me turning those pages. You could see there was love but I also just want to scream at the characters for being the way they were. Yet I felt the love and care throughout and still hated how they treated each other at the same time.

It’s taken me a long time to write this review for this book because I have no idea how to express my thoughts about this book. It’s definitely a complicated love story and I feel just that with this book.

"And as the magical silence once again embraced them, after fifty years, all they could do was look at each other. And smile."

I love Alex and Rosie so much. A reread of this brought me so much joy.

I started reading this because the film is one of my favorite movies ever. That being said, I’m already in love with the story and invested in the plot so please take that into account. The novel really lengthens their frustrating timing of finally being together, and I felt like if I didn’t love the movie as much as I do I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much (found it tough to get through at times.) The middle bit was quite lengthy. My kobo also kind of messed up the formatting since the book is written exclusively in letters, emails, text messages, etc. so it was a pain to read sometimes. This detail makes the novel unique but I also found myself missing second person paragraph writing at times.

Still, all in all it’s ones of the best best friends to lovers storylines and I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for Alex and Rosie.

Only four stars because I’m a sucker for the film adaptation (and the storyline overall) but if I never knew of the film this would get a high 2, low 3 from me :(
