listening to this on like 1.5 speed was so silly

.

The best piece of high republic media so far.

Lourna Dee is an amazing character developed wonderfully through this audio drama. I had planned to listen to this in multiple sittings and ended up listening to it in one.

Loved it from start to finish.

Rounding up from 2.5. The weakest entry into The High Republic series that I’ve read so far. The nuance of the titular character is interesting, however

Excellent back story of a main character from the series. This book focuses mainly on one character unlike most other High Republic books which bounce around between multiple characters. This was refreshing to hyperfocus on one character and their backstory. It gives plenty of lore and motivation for the upcoming climax of the next few books. One of the best High Republic books yet.

Essentially the backstory of Lourna Dee. I was more surprised than I should have been that Pan Eyta was alive, bc i forgot he escaped at the end of The Rising Storm! The audiobook did engross me for an entire flight, so that’s something! but in the end, I don’t know that I was that I was that convinced by this book - did it need to happen? did we need to have a backstory on Lourna? Especially since she went back to bad at the end anyway (even tho I understand why she did, feeling like she’d been used again). I’m very curious if her experience in the Republic will change how she reacts in the end. If it doesn’t, then i’m not sure this story was even worth it.
