I struggled with the beginning. The audio drama format is odd for me, and it was hard to learn the characters. But it gave a lot of incredible insight into the Nihil and Lourna herself. It bridged the gap effectively between the books and was a necessary listen to understand how the Nihil had changed and split.

A lot of interesting ideas, and i’m eternally compelled by the kind of revenge/emancipation story it’s going for (see my favourite film of the year so far in Furiosa), but it’s drawn out, borderline sluggish at times, its episodic nature is solid, but each episode doesn’t always feel cohesive as a whole, and the back and forth between storylines of Lorna’s past and present doesn’t always feel right. The production is solid, but does have much the same scriptural issues that would later befall Battle of Jedha, often feeling overwritten and not quite as nuanced as it could be. Liked a lot of it, but the whole is not quite equal to the sum of its parts.
