if you liked all the bright places READ THIS! it’s much lighter, very cute, and has beautiful writing / the most stunning setting (seriously i want to go live on that island forever). i actually didn’t have very high hopes going into this book, seeing as i was a bit underwhelmed by all the bright places, and i wasn’t sure this would even be as good, but it definitely is! i would recommend for a sweet summer read <3

Dieses Buch war so anders, das ich keine Bewertung schreiben kann. Ich weiß noch nichtmal mit wie vielen Sternen ich es bewerten soll. 4? 5? Das Buch hat mir so viel mitgegeben und das Ende war traurig… aber auch schön. Der Dank am Ende war auch so unglaublich schön
I absolutely love Jennifer Niven, especially All The Bright Places but this one didn’t hold up for me to be honest.
I can see and feel how personal this book was to her. I love when she writes personal stories it really hits me in the heart. This book felt a little repetitive in what was going on between Claude and Miah. It was cute and romantic though.

Ooh boy I loved so much of this. If you love Jennifer’s writing and ability to craft character and setting, you’ll enjoy this one. I will say it’s almost like an upper/more adult Sarah Dessen book. It’s very summery and set on an island that’s quite remote and honestly the setting felt so real which I LOVED! (I will say I wanted to get to know the side characters more especially all the kids on the island!)
There’s a lot of frank talk about sex and all that comes with it, which is refreshing to read about but may not be ideal if a reader is younger than 15. It depends of course on the reader!

Tout vole en éclats quand son père lui apprend qu'il ne supporte plus la vie de famille. Elle se trouve alors forcée de partir 35 jours en vacances avec sa mère, sur une île au large de la cote Est des Etats-Unis, une île où il n'y a même pas de réseau !
Elle rencontre une bande de jeunes, qui font des petits boulots sur l'île pendant l'été, et en particulier Jeremiah, beau gosse agaçant et sur de lui, avec un passif de bad boy.
Mais Claude n'est pas intéressée, elle s’apitoie sur elle-même, sur la séparation de ses parents, et compte bien attendre la fin de ses 35 jours en déprimant.
Pourtant, accepter d'ouvrir son coeur, et faire à nouveau confiance à quelqu'un, oser aimer à nouveau, cela pourrait bien être le remède à tous ses maux...

This is one of my best friends favourite authors so ofcourse I had to read it. YA/romance. Emotional reading in parts. Claudine is an amazing main character, after her parents split she finds herself with her mother on a remote island with no phone signal. What will she do? Surely she won’t fall in love will she? That is exactly what she does. A story all about first love. Overcoming her parents break up, learning about herself & her family past. A beautiful story. Does contain sex scenes.
Devoured the majority of this in one day. Absolutely loved it. The ending annoying me. Well a certain part. No spoilers but highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me. Stunning. A read that stays with you and reminds you all about your first love. Cute.
