This was a solid 3 star mystery. Good characters and interesting plot. It is apparently part of a series but I read it stand alone. I enjoyed it and think it would be a perfect beach read.

If, like me, you love a good whodunit, with a good plot twist and easy reading, This book is perfect. I found this book in an op shop for $2 and I’m always apprehensive to try a book that’s not already on my TBR because I usually finish it feeling underwhelmed. But this book made me instantly go online and buy the rest of Mary Higgins clark. Perfect amount of characters to give the reader a good amount of “suspects” to try and figure it out yourself without getting too complex, and leads you down so many different theories, without the ending becoming predictable. Absolutely amazing ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have been a fan of Mary Higgins Clark since high school and still love her books! This is actually the third in the series but I started with the second (The Cinderella Murder) and finished it before I realized there was one before it (I've Got Your Under My Skin). This as a pretty quick read (3 days) but it was so fun and interesting and definitely kept me guessing as the suspicions and circumstances changed often. This was a collaboration with Alafair Burke who I had not heard of prior to this series but I might just have to check out her books as well! I love how this book can be such a great suspenseful mystery yet it doesn't contain any bad language or inappropriate scenes - just a crazy plot line that made me want to keep reading!

Another great installment of this series. I enjoy the new mystery each book, but love seeing the development in the main characters who produce the "Under Suspicion" show as they create each new episode. The audiobook narration for this series is top-notch and well done. Some of this is due to the smooth and natural way the authors write and some is due to a good narrator who paces her words and inflects at the right time. I look forward to the rest of this series!

I think I said the same after the first book in this series, but Alafair Burke is the best thing that could have happened to Mary Higgins Clark at this age. She was a great storyteller for a long time, but at some point the writing fell of a cliff. The ideas may have still been there, but the execution was not. Burke brings knowledge, ideas, and writing skills of her own, plus makes use of MHC's signature suspense. I love this series!
