I really enjoyed this book. On my romance exploration journey, I would probably rank this book between book lovers/beach read and people we meet on vacation.

I really loved Solomon's exploration of childhood abandonment, parental mental illness, personal journeys with depression, and blended families/dating with children. It is clear that Rachel takes so much care to explore our own relationships with stigma and mental health. Ari was such a complex and wonderful character and I loved spending time in her head (:

This novel surprised me in so many ways, but mainly in that I was not expecting to become as attached to it as I did. There’s so much to love about this story on the surface—the Parent Trap vibes, the sweet work friendship-turned-relationship between Ari and Russell, the shenanigans that ensue when they attempt to reunified their divorced bosses. But there’s so much more to discover beneath the surface of those things too, things like mental health and body image and love. Things that make this story so special and important, and it spoke to my heart in such a meaningful and touching way. So much so that I know I’ll be carrying this one with me for a long, long time.

i appreciate the efforts to depict depression and romance side-by-side, and to show a heroine whom is not "cured" by romantic love.

tbqh...i'm not sure if weather girl is a clear-cut romance novel...it reads more like chicklit or fiction?

absolutely loved ari and russell, but was frequently annoyed by how little focus was given to them. they felt like an afterthought in their own plot. at times their bosses' relationship drama eclipses the love story of the actual leads.
