Blake was truly gifted, and gifted to the extent that this quality reflects not only in his wonderful mastery of verse, but also in the heart-stopping beauty he is able to bring to life in illustration. If any poet can ever be said to have reached the hearts and minds of others through their work, none is more deserving of that accolade than Blake, who turned what he saw, and what he felt, into universal, freely experienced works of sheer art, that everyone might see, and understand: "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite”.
