Reasonably well-written, but the twist/conclusion did not work for me at all.

This book is honestly just one long fever dream. I think the writing style was very unique and unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s the kind that probably wouldn’t work with many other genres. Also the audiobook is amazing and really plays off the writing style to make it an immersive experience. However, plot wise, not much actually happens in this book. The ‘scare’ factor is more so in anticipation of something happening than anything actually happening; this works to a point but after a while something actually needs to happen in order to make the scariness work. I can see why people like this but it is also easy to see why others like myself don’t. This is a very decisive book that you’ll either love or hate.

This is one of the craziest books I have read. I did not expect the ending at all. But I loved it all the same

Some parts I liked a lot, but some of them felt repetitive to the point where there is nothing new being written. It's just the same jumble of words repeated over and over and over again. And I admit - that was The point, I really felt every spiral and curve of this characters lives. All of the book is constantly high stakes, no stopping by for rest. I really liked how the text is part of a narrative, flowing and sinking, you can almost experience the same feeling.
The ending is a little cheesy, perhaps too sunshiny and happy for me, too much of a contrast compared to dark and moldy suffering.
All this good and deep writing, but I don't think I will pick up something from this author in the near future. I feel like I need a vacation or something after this book, cats and endless sleep included. Maybe someday I'll actually decide that I need to suffer more - then I'll come back, why not.

Without a doubt one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read. If you’re a big fan of the unreliable narrator then you’ll love this, but be prepared to be utterly confused until you get to the last chapter or so. Well-written, but some of the dialogue seemed purple and unrealistic.

This book was extremely strange. It was a mix of paranormal and psychological thriller. My main issue with this book would be that the characters acted in annoyingly unrealistic ways which made the middle of the book a drag. I also wish that the main antagonist/monster would have been seen more to give the reader a better sense of fear. However, I did like the twist in the end and it was unexpected.
