I really enjoyed this book and this author's writing style. Was a book that kept me engaged, which I've been needing. Great story line, believable characters- freakishly real!
I absolutely loved this book. The premise is fascinating and terrifying. The writing was just beautiful and I loved Julia, the main character.

I checked this out because I liked the cover. This is probably the only science fiction book I have ever completed as I usually dislike the genre. It was not my favorite, but I am proud of myself. Probably more for YA though.
I loved this book. It's not the best written book. It's not the best ending. It's just so vivid and real and I felt like I was there the entire time I was reading it. I felt engaged with the characters, and the plot was very original and unique. I love the emphasis on what it means to be human and on time and the ways in which it affects us. She could have delved a bit deeper into a few things here and there, but I just really loved this and would read it again. It was kind of a magical book.

One of the better books I have read recently. A dystopia told in a new way. A coming of age tale.
I have mixed feelings about this beautifully written book. It's a slice-of-life story that shows what happens when the world begins to spin more slowly on its axis through the eyes of a girl. I liked that the pace was slow, that despite disaster striking, things are still taken a day at a time. I also liked that the author kept the focus on the main character and her family, rather than on the disaster. The earth slowing always loomed in the background, but was never the primary focus of the action.
I never did quite get why the book was titled as it was. Though there were very few miracles, I came away from the book feeling melancholic, but a tiny bit hopeful.

I tore through this book in three days. Walker did an amazing job devleoping the atmosphere of this world. I really enjoyed the realistic description of the narrator's relatable and crappy 6th grade social experiences within the context of the larger changes occuring in the world. The juxtaposition of these two elements worked really well for me. I totally see myself reading this again down the road.
