It was a good book... The characters were really nice... But the kinks were most definately not my type(exhibition, stepsiblings, 17+ age gap with fl 18)or else I loved the book, loved the characters.

I think I hyped this book up to much in my head. I was so excited for zhara and massimos story but I kind of felt disappointed. Like it just didn’t have much to it. I wish it had more of a longing and slow burn I felt like even tho it took a while to get together it somehow was still too fast. I think I needed them to be saying no more often but zhara said nah and made him kind of. I also didn’t like the exhibitionist thing at the end not my favorite thing ever but that’s just a personal thing. The writing however was very nice but again I guessed right away who the villain was and it kind of made it anticlimactic. If it was Pepe that would have been even more crazy or like someone like that. I could tell right away that salvo was a bad guy.

I really enjoy this series a lot, but this one was not my favorite. I love the idea of the characters - Zahara finding confidence in herself and asserting herself within the Mafia world and Massimo struggling with and healing from the violence and trauma of a long term prison sentence (as well as the trauma of running a mafia organization). I think the beginning of the book was largely a recap of the previous book from another experience, which could have been cut down to include more character development for these two main characters after Massimo gets out of prison and they begin their in person relationship in the second half of the book. The jumps in their character development needed more flushing out.
