I gave Sweet Prison by Neva Altaj ⭐⭐⭐.
While I enjoyed the overall concept and characters, I found myself wishing for more depth and detail in the storyline. The narrative’s tendency to skip forward in time left me feeling disconnected at times—I wanted more insights into Massimo and Zahara’s emotions and the evolution of their relationship. It felt like some key moments were missing, which could have made the story more immersive. I also wish Massimo had a closer connection with his inner self, as this could have added a deeper emotional layer to the story.

Thought I was going to really enjoy this couple but a few things prevented that. The tension between these two was perfectly written but the second that Massimo and Zahara got together things change. Massimo never tells her about the second voice in his head properly. Zahara suddenly went from hiding under her clothes in the corner of every room to having sex with Massimo in only his shirt in a meeting full of people. Just doesn’t add up to me unfortunately.

Not my favorite of this series. It was a little bit slow for me but maybe it's because I was going off all the holiday burnout.
The first 30% was a little boring because it goes through Massimo's imprisonment pretty much year by year. The highlights were the letters of course. I enjoyed seeing Massimo and Zahara bond and become sort of like friends to growing this romantic tension even just in the letters (and yes the romance doesn't start until she's of age). I loved that Zahara was shy and afraid but she was so sure of herself when she was Massimo's spy.
I think the events just got a little repetitive and dragged sometimes.
It did pick up once Massimo was released. I enjoyed how he protected her and provided both when he was behind bars and out.
What I did love most was Zahara's character development. She went from shy and insecure to someone who lived on her own terms unafraid. She stood in the spotlight, she wore a color she loved, and was so confident being Massimo's person.(Also she jumped right into exhibitionism in one night lmaoo get it girl)
I also think I liked the Massimo up until the last part. 😅 his character got a little too corny for me to handle. I was admittedly skimming.
The true antagonist was also super easy to predict from the start 🫣
Overall cozy and fun mafia. But not my favorite from this series. I can't wait for the next one though.

Not sure how I feel about this book. It was good but it was very heavy in the interworking of the mafia. He was definitely crazy but you kinda love him anyways. She grew into a badass which was fun to see.
