I think I speak for the general public when I say: this was WHIPLASH. First off - this should have been the long way home because DAMN this was the longest story ever told. Magnolia thinks BJ cheated - cries and runs away - he explains the situation like merely just eating a burger - they're together again- rinse, wash, repeat. Like wait....BJ cheated on Magnolia with her best friend, Paili???

I’m not saying I hated it—I’m not heartless. BJ and Magnolia are everyone’s dream couple, and their romance scenes were absolutely heart-melting. But also... I was lowkey hoping Julian would make a comeback and stir the pot one last time. Don’t act like you weren’t too.

—POSSIBLE SPOILERS—

Bloody hell, being back in Magnolia’s head was a headache! Love the girl—don’t get me wrong—I love the girl, she’s after my own heart—but that’s exactly the problem. The way we act and think is just too similar, and I’m stuck with myself 24/7, reading my own brain on paper is exhausting.

Jessa Hastings, though… spot on. Even if it felt like not much happened, I loved spending time with the crew again. Daisy and Taura? Always a joy. My baby Tom fucking England popped in for a cameo (always and forever). 💖

Bridget? My heart broke again and again whenever she was mentioned. Now I get why everyone who’s read these books adores her.

Harley…ugh. Showed his true colours, made me want to throw a couple hundred uppercuts his way, but he did slowly try to make things right by the end, so…honourable mention, I guess.

Can’t leave this without mentioning one of my new loves: Julian Haites. His scene with Magnolia—had my heart shattering for him. 💔

Also, people will probably hate me, but a very, very, very small part of me was hoping something would happen to BJ at the end of the book so Maggie could go back to Julian in the next one 🙊🫣 Don’t come for me—but that would be my preference.

All in all, chaotic brain vibes, heartbreak, laughs, cameos, and chaos…basically everything I live for in these books.

"when I die - it will echo through space and through time, and it'll brush up against the edge of this universe and press into the next one that I loved you more than anything."

it's the way i increasingly became more and more invested in bj and magnolia's love story after being purely a daisy and christian girl for the longest time. im so glad these cutie patooties are finally married, its definitely been long-awaited. this book was beautiful and the way magnolia dealt with her grief with bridget was fascinating. now i have to wait literally FOREVER for the last book, good god :(

I am unfortunately not okay.. I can’t believe this, can’t tell if I’m happy or not… Julian will always be it for me.
