Literally could not put this book down. Wonderfully written and a new favourite of mine

Julie Meskens is a young, attractive student who is enjoying her early twenties and doesn't seem in any hurry to settle down. However, when she faces an unplanned pregnancy, a series of strange events are set in motion - things that have her completely on edge. Then, she disappears from her apartment. The police are puzzled. Who could be behind her disappearance? Was she kidnapped by the baby's father and killed, or did she run away?

I finished this book very quickly - it was very easy to read and extremely gripping. I loved how the author switched viewpoints between characters and went back and forth over the timeline - it not only built up a picture of the background to Julie's story but it somehow added to the tension overall. Without giving too much away, the novel was full of surprises, twists, and turns and had me guessing til the last minute - the ending had me shocked! Though I don't usually go for thrillers, I enjoyed Alone very much - I feel like it would make a really good holiday read.

Won this in a giveaway and I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it was really good! Obviously the development of the story itself is pretty expected based on the synopsis but I really enjoyed the writing and seeing the different characters reacting like this or that.
I was glad we ended up not knowing what happens to Nievens because as much as I hate knowing the poor bunny died it would have been so much worse if we had known exactly how. Also I really liked the ending. Chilling (and somehow I didn't really expect it)

It’s alright some misspells and I wish it wasn’t so obvious who it was going to be and wish their was a major plot twist.
