I think my favorite of her work so far! I started with banal nightmare and finished with Julien. The idea of reinvention or a fantasy self that just needs you to change most things about yourself to achieve this new state of being is everywhere. There is a constant stream of content out there about 5 things you can do to improve your life right now and will only cost you xxxx dollars. But whose to say we will even be happy in this new version of ourselves. I think halle explores this with the examination of work culture. Can you enjoy your monotonous work if your life outside of work is picture perfect. Probably not, but the focus is often on the individual changing instead of the work culture changing. But it is interesting to see how Millie's indivial choices make things harder for herself as well. Although in some ways her indivial choices ultimately don't matter as Karen had it out for her from the start.

3.5. I have mixed feelings about this one. I thought it was good though I'm not sure I enjoyed it, or at least the first half. I also couldn't make my mind up about the character - did she frustrate me? Did I feel sorry for her? Did I think she needed more help than she got? I guess that's the point though.
