This book deals with some really big themes. It did seem as if there were short moments devoted to them, though, and then the plot quickly moved on. I think this book would have done those topics more justice to delve deeper and not give such neat resolutions. It very much gave me YA vibes, and I think I would have loved to read this in my teens or early 20s.
Such a quick and great read! Merit’s character grabs your attention with her quirkiness. Maybe there are some things we can all learn from Merit and her personal struggles.
This was not my favorite from Hoover, but it was still enjoyable. There were definitely some parts / scenes in this book that were problematic and could have been written differently.
OMG, this book! No one was kidding when they said how good it is. This is seriously not a read-at-work type of book because you will cry, both of which I did.
Family dynamics are always tough and being honest. The characters in this book are all very well developed each having their own set of issues. Really loved the vulnerability.
This eventually had a good(ish) message on depression, but oof this book was a mess and way too family-friendly if you know what I mean
