Another audiobook, and another one thinking that I still have to get more comfortable with this medium. I liked the diverse characters and the concept of a different side of London, a different world in between the cracks. It was an imaginative read that created a good mental world when it had the chance but it was also confusing - especially since I listened to it only on occasion and had no overarching storyline in my head that could have helped me keep track with the narrative. I found the book gets better around the halfway mark but the ending left me dissatisfied.

I tried to read American Gods and got a little creeped out by the demonic aspects in the first chapter, but I really liked Gaiman's Norse Mythology and didn't want to give up on reading his fiction, so I decided Neverwhere was a good compromise. I loved it! The setting kind of reminds me of Harry Potter because it takes place in present day London in this reality, but in a sort of invisible dimension that other people can't see (but there's no magic school or anything...calm down). The characters are really fun and you learn to love them (though give it time, Richard is awful the first few chapters). This book was written in the mid 90's but supposedly Gaiman is currently working on book 2, so it's probably a good time to check it out if you haven't already!

I have been hearing about the genius that is Neil Gaiman for quite some time and kept meaning to read a book by him, I'm not sure why I chose this one to start with, but I was truly not disappointed! What an adventure, this story is fantastic!!! Can't wait to read more by him, and seriously hope Gaiman decides to write more about the underground world beneath major cities

Neil Gaiman always delivers very imaginative stories written in beautiful prose, and this one is no exception! The pacing dragged a little bit in the middle for me, but overall I really enjoyed this whimsical adventure! It is such a rich world, it feels like Gaiman could write another dozen stories within London below and I'd enjoy them all!
