Another delightfully sweet story. Jess sure had some bad luck when it came to those ex's, lol, but it had a happy ending.

Jess is an insufferable main character and it makes it very hard to root for her relationship. The only thing that’s worse is her ex Karen oh my God that woman is crazy she follows her to London and then turns up at her work and her house thinking she can win her back and doesn’t take no for an answer until the very end like have some self-respect. There was also a lot of stereotypes and it kind of felt like it was written more in 2004 rather than 2014.

slow and annoying

This book is slow paced and it felt like not much happened from beginning to end. I was expecting more form this novel. We don’t get to know the characters very well, which made the romance rather lacking.

DID NOT FINISH

I don't mind books where 'nothing happens'; love them actually. But this is dragging, the narrator for the audiobooks keeps taking this extremely deep, extremely audible breaths in between sentences and the protag just used a transphobic slur that went completely unchallenged. Washing my hands of this one.

I don't know, I had a hard time connecting with this and pacing felt like it dragged.

Eugh. Nearly dnf'd... not sure if it was the narrator or the content but struggled with this

This was honestly a hard listen for me, maybe it was the British narration that threw me off or maybe it was due to this just being a bad book lol.

Like I feel sorry for Lucy
seeing the girl she was dating kiss another girl and then that girls ex popping back up
but I do feel like she over reacted, especially at the wedding.

Also why was a STRAIGHT woman just throwing the word “dyke” around like nothing? (I get it’s set in 2010 and times were slightly different back then but it was very uncomfortable to hear as a lesbian) I also think the t slur was also said at one point :/
