This book took some time to get into but after 70 pages i was hooked and finished it in 2 days. Such an interesting take on the hunger games formula -which this book was likened to- that it didn’t really feel like it at all. it felt more like war to me. True to the gods and the training mentioned in this book. Moments with a lack of humanity occurred which made the experience of indoctrination and brainwashing happening in the houses a real thing that happened within the characters that was caused by living within these houses.

Initially I couldn't get into this book, the character development was lacking, which made it difficult to care what was happening to the characters. The second half of the book was excellent and I definitely enjoyed it. A few unexpected things happened and the author got me sucked into the story. It was definitely giving Percy Jackson vibes but for a more mature audience.

A really fun and engaging story with a great cast of characters, the prose was great and I really like how the author describes the world and the action! I did find the ending a bit rushed though.
Finally finished. 2,5⭐ it was very chaotic, the start seemed very promising but I did not enjoy reading this.The only reason why I finished is because I don't like starting smth and not finishing it.
