I like this book, because I love the movie. I wish I could love the characters more, since they’re all kinda terrible to each other. The last 3 chapters went on for too long. It was very repetitive at that point and could’ve ended way earlier.

Charming, sprightly, full of good banter. Towards the end the on/off engagement and repeated hijinks seemed a bit too forced in there.
Fluffy fun and a quick read, though mostly because it speeds through events with essentially no character development or inner lives. I was not surprised the author is a screenwriter and am quite excited with what this prelude could become when fleshed out as a film, just sad I was denied a more full tale on the page.
