It has all of the energy that a Jane Austen film has that is hard to grasp when reading. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to watching the movie!

I don’t think I actually liked any of the characters, mostly because they forgot their motivations half the time. Over all they were all just bland.
I thought this would have p&p levels of witty banter (That’s how the advertisement read.), but it’s more just romantic teasing. It wasn’t even super witty, and was always too friendly. (Maybe I’m just more an enemies to lovers person?)
The interpersonal conflict felt dull since they never disliked each other for long enough for it to build and feel meaningful. The situation conflict mostly felt contrived to make a specific trope/scene happen.

To simply state, this was an enjoyable novel. The storyline was really fun. However, the language was quite appalling at times mixing regency with modern slang. Definitely unique.

What a flat book. Everything went so fast and the characters never really felt developed. Also, Julia is the worst person and she still got a happy ending with a perfectly lovely person?
