I can’t comprehend why I assumed that I’d like this one after disliking another one from this author…there was no real plot or even anything resembling romance here.

This was a lot of fun! I had never read an erotica before so I didn’t really know what to expect going into, but I was pleasantly surprised. The writing style was really good, the characters were intriguing (although they didn’t have *super* in depth personalities, but given how short this is that didn’t really bother me), and I loved where the plot went!

Overall, a fantastic read and I can’t wait to get to the sequels!

I usually enjoy Katee Roberts writing however this one just isn't for me. There is supposed to be a plot but I feel like there is a lot that we are missing context/plot wise, so the 'plot' around this doesn't hold up at all. Perhaps if there had been something showing a lead up it would have felt more grounded to me.

If you are looking for a hot, steamy, and dark romance novel then Desperate Measures will fulfil your wishes. This book was delicious and mind-blowing. In the beginning, I was completely anti-Jafar but as the story progressed I loved him. The ending just shook me and I still can't believe that happened. The character development of Jasmine was just wow. She was an unexpected strong female character. And of course, I am shipping them hard right now.
If you can handle all the darkness and roughness of this genre then do pick it up. I am sure it will entertain you and leave you spellbound with the ending.
