I just realised I’ve been sleeping on Jagger Cole hard. This book delivered
Great banter & chemistry ✅
Delicious dirty talk ✅
Spicey spice ✅
Equally possessive/jealous couple ✅
It started off a standard arranged marriage of convenience, neither person particularly interested in marriage, enemies to lovers. I wasn’t sure it would be any different to the 100s of other books I’ve read with that trope, but I think the dirty talk really just won me all the way over. That plus I really liked Neve. Looking forward to Eilish and Callie’s stories

Not my cup of tea. The characters and their ridiculous bickering was a bit too immature for me.
This book wasn’t like the typical mafia romance novels I enjoy reading. It was more mafia-lite. The characters were more soft than I am used too and they did a very poor job when it comes to security. Them believing that Seamus was actually dead because of a tattooed hand was ridiculous. Where was the DNA proof. They let down their guard too easily.
Furthermore, her going out on her own to pay blackmailers was laughable. She put herself in such a compromising situation.
Then there is the fact that Seamus takes Neve back to the same cabin he had been arrested at. That is just stupid. After all these years of prison, that was the best plan that he could think of….smh. My only experience with criminal justice is from reading books and watching tv, but even I know that the cabin would be one of the first places I would look for him.
The end was sooo over the top corny…. I literally felt like gagging
I am giving it a 3/5 since the writing wasn’t bad.

This one goes to my "read-in-one-sitting" category, because I didn't put this book down since the moment I started reading it.
Mafia romance and arranged marriage? Yes, please, sign me in!
I enjoyed so much how Ares and Neve's relationship went from hate to tolerate to love. Despite this being an arranged marriage situation, you could feel a certain spark and chemistry between them from the beginning.
I loved how Neve interacted with Ares, it genuinely made me laugh a couple times! She's fearless and she isn't afraid to tell her scary, possessive and dangerous fake-husband to fuck-off and call him asshole plenty of times - queen, we love it!
Ares is one sexy, confident, powerful and possessive handsome man. I loved how protective he is towards Neve from the very first moment it becomes clear they are to marry. There's no love in the beginning and yet you can just tell Ares would move heaven and earth for her and do all in his power to see and make Neve happy.
Also, this book has lots of steam. I mean, lots. Ares and Neve may be lacking the purest love in the beginning, but they sure as hell don't lack passion and fire 🔥🔥🔥
I really enjoyed this one. The romance, the plot, the suspense 🤌🏼 I'm so excited for the other books in the series!
