That was so dumb. Way too much going on, the pacing was terrible, it leaned way to heavily on the tropes and should’ve been 200 pages shorter.

I liked the overall plot and characters in this book, but the ending and the plot twists throughout were kind of predictable. I also feel like a lot of things were brought up and never really addressed again, which was slightly annoying, but since this is a series of interconnected standalones maybe some of these things will get addressed in the following books. I did really like the side characters in this book and cannot wait to read about them in the other books in the series. I also really liked Ares and the banter he had with Neve, and the fact that Neve wasn’t afraid of him.
They both annoyed me so much, ignoring the whole start where they both were peeping toms on each other, it felt like in the beginning all they wanted to do was smash?? and it continued for the rest of the book
It felt like she wasn’t really what they were hyping her up to be and was just acting like a child for the majority of the book and when they kept saying that she’s the queen he’s been looking for all i could think was “huh??? are we talking about the same girl??”
