I don't like teacher/ student relationships even though plot twist was predictable it somehow made bareble.

This book was not a beautiful mistake to read. Not at all. I loved this one so much more than I thought I would and I am so happy that I read it.

The best thing about this book is the chemistry between Caine and Rachel. From the very beginning in the bar, and later in the classroom, there's something about how they are together. And I liked even though this novel my follow the student-prof trope, it was done in a way that didn't constantly remind you of their situation. It was just two people, who should stay away from each other, but can't. There was no drama about the forbiddenness of them by the school. Just two people who fell in love, went through issues, and kept their relationship quiet until after she finished her thesis and finished being his TA.

the arc of the story surprised me, I'll admit. It wasn't something I saw happening. When Caine's chapters about his past first started I thought it was leading somewhere; like the girl eventually dating him when she got older, and with his fame, he ruined the relationship and she became his first heartbreak or something like that. Instead, where it went was a complete surprise for me and I'm grateful for the novel for that.

Vi Keeland's has some real hits in my mind, and this is one of them.

i loved this book. i will say that her being the little girl threw me off bc she was 10 and he was 17 but the author didn’t make it uncomfortable or romantic in anyway and i was scared that it may end up like that, but it wasn’t at all. i thought it was beautiful that they found each other again

This was one of those books that squeezed my heart. The plot twist was very predictable but still lovely nonetheless
