Oh my god!!! I cannot believe it ended like that! Why oh why does the next book have to be on hiatus? I'm gonna die waiting for it. That ending was so unexpected. I need the third book to make everything okay again because I can't deal with what just happened. Teddy needs to go somewhere far far away like asap. Hopefully Kelly will get some new inspiration for the next book soon because I need it. Until then I will be waiting.

In some ways More Than Jamie Baker was a big improvement on Being Jamie Baker. The writing was a bit more sophisticated and the characters certainly more mature. But, in other aspects it didn’t meet my expectations.

One conflict of Being Jamie Baker played a huge role in MTJB. I was glad because I felt it wasn’t given the attention it needed in the first installment. While it made me happy that it was finally being discussed, it also angered me because it wasn’t handled maturely and at times Jamie was quite insensitive about it.

Jamie grew as a person, but Ryan did not. Ryan is unfortunately an example of a Mary Sue; he really has no faults. Mike, a character from book one, has some of the most characterization. Reading about these characters in college was a big improvement than when they were in high school.

Again, the villain wasn’t very well disguised. Jamie would realize a vital bit of info and then just disregard and forget about it because it didn’t go along with what she already believed.

I don’t sympathize with Jamie because she made the same mistakes as she had in the previous novel. The villain did redeem him/herself (leaving it ambiguous for spoilers) at then end of the book by being pretty despicable. A massive cliff-hanger ends the novel, but I’m just not sure that I am invested enough in the characters to read the third novel.

The comic book feel is still ever-present and the dialogue would make me smile. However, how some issues were handled didn’t sit well with me, and in the end the book just fell flat.

El Extraño Gato del Cuento

Editado: 16.10.2113

So this second book in the series. It started out a bit slow, but very enjoyable as Jamie tried juggling college, Ryan, BFF, and a mysterious stranger. I really for a few heartbeats thought this was going to be a love triangle and almost threw the book at my wall, but mercifully Kelly spared me! Thanks for that. I seriously cannot wait to read the third. So, here I go

I would give this book 5 million stars if I could. It was so great, and a wonderful sequel. Everything was perfect except for the freaking ending. I'm just really happy that Jamie didn't even consider being romantic with Teddy, she is completely Ryan's. Their relationship makes me very happy. I need the next book now.

New Character:

Teodoro Vivenzio - dark brown wavy chocolate hair, rich chocolate brown eyes, long lashes, dimples, blue eyes

Quotes:

“It’s my dream, Baker. I’ll dress you however I want.” His smile turned wicked. “Or maybe I won’t dress you at all.” - Ryan

“How many times do I have to tell you, you are my life. College, playing football, my friends, my future…I’ll gladly give it all up. I don’t even have to think about it because none of it would matter if I didn’t have you.” -Ryan

MARCH 13, 2013 : OMG A COVER I CAN'T BREATHE IT IS AWESOMENESSSSS
BUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE JAN 2014 RELEASE DATE? DO YOU THINK THAT'S COOL? DO YOU THINK THAT IT'S COOL TO TEASE US AND MAKE THE RELEASE SO FAR AWAY? because it's not cool. nevertheless, I will be eagerly awaiting this book...!!!

OCT 17, 2013 : Yes it came out early. And it was good... not as good as the first one, in my opinion, but I often find I like the first book of a series more.
BUT THAT CLIFFIE. That damn cliffie!
Like what the hell?? Her memory is gone??? Teddy is such an asswipe for taking advantage of it! If he was a half decent guy he would respect her wishes. Arrgh!

The only upside to this is that this'll give Jamie (and me) a chance to fall in love with Ryan all over again... *swoon*

Can't wait for the next book! Hopefully not going to be such a long stretch between them though.
