In a destroyed world a cult has taken root in the rubble. Young women forced into a caste system and brutally treated. One young woman keeps a forbidden journal and slowly begins to uncover her past and show her a way to the future. This was really good. Like punch you in the heart, and trigger an emotional collapse good. I liked the character growth, the atmosphere and the simple yet emotionally charged storyline. I will be reading more of this author.

Wow. It's a short, quick read but wow so many messages and things that make you think. Religious horror, oppression & torture, abuse in every possible way. Bug stuff. Dystopia. LGBTQ+ characters. I really enjoyed this read.

Incredibly dark and traumatic, but also inspiring and beautifully written. LGBTQ+ friendly in the horror genre was a pleasant surprise. Not for those with weak stomachs. There were only a few recurring themes/comments that I felt weren’t properly tied together or revealed at the end.
