Not her best but not bad, a little slow to become engaged as the plot had so many tangents.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the premise of the possibility of finding holy bones.

So I like the show Bones and thought I would try the books. I didn't really care of this book. I thought the plot was contrived and not convincing at all. If this was the only Tempe Brennan book I read I would never go back.
Why Kathy Reichs felt the need to do a Temperance Brennan version of that terrible Dan Brown book is beyond me. While it is certainly the better written book of the two, it wasn't something I could honestly say I enjoyed, mostly due to the idiotic actions of Tempe in the second half of the book. It was painfully obvious who the baddie was, yet the reader had to muddle through countless sessions of twenty questions with Tempe and Ryan before they (didn't really) figure things out.
I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as all the previous. It may have been something to do with my having just read another novel set in Israel - it felt as though Reichs was jumping on the bandwagon a little bit. But also, I couldn't get a good picture in my mind of the environment, and I had been able to do that previously.
In fact, this disappointment put me off the series for a couple of years.b

I quite liked this book, more intresting than some of the other Brennans I have read.
Sadly though, I am almost finding that there is beginning to be a pattern to the way these stories go.

I liked the story a bit more in this book. It was very interesting. I also liked the advancement of Tempe and Ryan's relationship.
It's like "DaVinci Code" except it uses actual research and it turns out the giant conspiracy is just a figment of imagination.
