If you like Grisham you won't be disappointed. Maybe not the thrilling page turner but still a book that you find hard to put down.
Rather slow-moving for a Grisham novel. There were quite a few of unnecessary details that prolonged the story.
Great story about a lawyer with a good moral compass. This had a lot of humor in it, especially with the voice used by the narrator. I was surprised with this different style of writing by Grisham, but the story was very engaging.
This book was really a fun read. I spent a day on the couch and just read it and it was such a pleasure. It's not a classic, but it's pure entertainment.
There are enough reviews on goodreads that summarize the plot, so I'm not going to for this review. I will say that the strength of this book is how well he depicts courtroom scenes and describes cases. In fact, after reading this I could still imagine the attorneys he described, the details of the trial, the atmosphere of the courtroom.

Two loser plaintiff lawyers pick up a young lawyer who recently walked out of one of the big firms. They end up covering a massive tort case, but the young guy finds a lead poisoning case on the side and makes them some money. Readable like all Grisham, but not one single interesting thing happened. I was waiting for the climax and it didn't have one.
I appreciate Grisham's turning various subcultures inside the legal industry into novels. This one is about the legal feeding frenzy that can result from possible prescription drugs gone wrong. Everyone has fast-forwarded through the opposing ads on tv: daytime near-infomercials for wonderful drugs with the speed-reading of possible detriments at the end, followed by ads from legal companies, usually one screenshot with various screaming capitalized words to jump in & profit if you have suffered from a particular drug. Grisham fills in characters & procedures behind tiresome tv bids for our money & support.
I have to agree with some other reviewers... I don't believe that Grisham has written most of that book. That much sloppy writing? No way.
Why do I still hand out three stars? Well, I loved the first 20% or so. They were really funny and involved a lot of corporate lawyer bashing. Since I worked in corporate law firms for nearly 20 years, I can absolutely appreciate that part. And I know that it's based on facts.
So, five stars and more for the cool beginning. Not more than two stars for the rest. All in all three stars, cause I still enjoyed that book with the name "Grisham" on it. You'd really think though, that he as enough money to at least hire a good ghostwriter...

I found this book more difficult to get into because I found the primary characters unsympathetic. And I just find it hard to relate to people who are so reluctant to think things through. Still good writing. Not a story I could have really enjoyed from most authors.
