More than 4 stars but not quite 5. I really liked it. Is a mixture of Memoirs of a geisha and fantasy/necromancy. Tea is a good main character, a bit too powerful but still relatable. The pages in between chapters were interesting. They are the present while the chapters are the past. Since i already started reading the second one, and saw this arrangement continued, i wonder if the last book, will be only in the present, or if this back and forth will continue.
The main love interest was kind of predictable, but i don't mind it too much.

It was enjoyable, enough so that I kept listening. If I had to physically read this, I don't think it would have kept my attention. This book just kept feeling like a very long prologue. Unsure of if I like the current POV and the past POV alternating back and forth.
