I really liked the premise of this novel. I liked that we know where Tea ends up but we don't know how. Her story is slow but interesting. I often found Tea to be whiny. I felt like Tea's character falls into the "Bella effect" the powerful or beautiful or unique girl who is full of self-doubt. Some of the over whininess might be from the reader, sometimes I am unsure if a character rubs me wrong because of the readers interpretation of them or if I would have felt the same way reading the characters myself.

I like how the author prepped this book for the beginning of a series, but I didn’t love how part of the ending “revelations” just felt random like, she reviewed all of the questions still left unanswered after the first draft and then said “fuck it” and wrote a hurried explanation.

I do have to say I will absolutely be reading the second one because what in the fuck happened Tea? But for real who hurt you- I need to know.
