First added to TBR 2016 ish? Around the time I was reading or rereading Jaws voraciously while hunting for creatures features like The Hatching (Boone)

First read 2018 : This was a free audiobook on a scifi/pulp/horror free book app. I read the whole series and The Loch, and even Vostok.

I don't remember when the movie was announced or when the book was changed, but I have to say. I really like the updated version. I freaking LOVED the original and wish that I had a copy it was so much more fun, edgy, and out there.

I know they changed the glass tube scene to be less drawn on and perhaps less intense.. but I can't pin point the rest.

Completely over the top and unrealistic - and yet still boring.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m always in for an out-to-sea thriller, especially if sharks are in the mix. This one was a mixed bag for me but I kind-of went into it having read several reviews ahead of time. I love the theory of the Meg still existing out there. The character build up started easy enough but I found myself having to ask myself “who was this person?” often as I got near the end and so many characters came together. The back and forth in the last few chapters didn’t bother me as much as it seems to have bothered other readers. All that said, it was a good read and I’m about to dive right in to the next in the series.
