Anne is just so lovely and so are her adventures. It's nice to follow her as she grows up and it's great to see this character evolve, but there's always a core of the precocious little girl that she started as in the first book.

"I don't want sunbursts and marble halls. I just want you. ... Oh, dreams will be very sweet now."
I genuinely released a happy sigh of contentment after finishing this dear book. I actually would like to give it a hug. There are few more precious to me as these three Annes have been - and I'm entirely grateful to sweet dreaming Lucy Montgomery. The ending was so perfect - when he calls her sweetheart I nearly cried. It's too much for my little sentimental heart to bear.
I feel like a lot of times sequels to successful classics are a bit halfhearted, written for the convenience and the demand. But every book that follows anne of green gables has the same spirit, same beautiful whimsical prose, and wonderful characters as character development as Anne #1 does. Each one of these books is as special as the last, and I'm getting so much comfort and joy and poetry from them all. I loved going to college with Anne just as much as I loved living at green gables and teaching with her. Her whole story is lovely and I'm so happy to have started it this autumn. She's helping m to illuminate the joys and beauties of life even in a very stressful time. Anne feels as much a dear friend as she ever has and I cannot wait to continue it. I'm simply glowing for these! xx
