I somehow managed to read this prior to reading book 2, and didn't realize until I was almost done, so I'm very disappointed!!! But even so, it was extremely charming and enjoyable.

I remember adoring this book when I was younger. I think it’s because it so beautifully romanticizes the idea of college. Now having lived through the phase of my life…meh. However, it’s Anne and so many of the characters ring true and sweet. I still love Phillippa Gordon, and I still love Anne and Gilbert’s love story. If I encountered it now, it would be 3 stars, but nostalgia bumps it to 4.
