Step siblings
Frenemies with benefits
Secret relationship
Pros:
- I really enjoyed this authors take on a forbidden/step siblings romance
- MMC came across as a dick in book 1, but he’s really not. Almost a cinnamon roll
- parents got together then they were 14 years old and both had feelings for each other from the beginning
- their parents divorced so it’s not like they were still siblings when they finally hooked up
- this book was spicier than book 1 and I definitely enjoyed the higher heat. Hey-yo!
- MMC’s dad (Crawford) is a self-made business owner who got into politics, so the optics of his son dating his ex-wife’s daughter doesn’t look great
- FMC doesn’t want to lose Crawford as he was her only reliable father figure
- FMC’s mom (Pamela) is a narcissistic gold digging wench though there is maybe some very tiny sympathy for her as she was a teen mom and busted her ass to provide for Carina. Seems her gold digging ways started after she got a taste of the good life and fears having to go back to waitressing
- great epilogue and bonus chapter
Cons:
- no notes
I liked the length (350ish pages) and wouldn’t have minded a longer book because it’s hinted that Crawford gets his own HEA and I wanted to know more. Or at least a longer bonus chapter
I picked up book one on a whim, and didn’t think I would continue with the series (hello TBR) but I am really enjoying this author.

ARC review
I knew, I just knew when I read Hate You Always, and these characters came into that story that I would love it! I love the enemies to lovers trope and this (to me) had more spice than Hate You Always. These books are interconnected characters, but you can read as stand-alone(s).
In this book, you have Ford(I love that character name) and Carina who met when Carina was 14 and her mother married Ford's dad. Carina and her mother didn't have money, her mother was a waitress when she met Ford's dad and he did have money. But Carina's mom left Ford's dad because once she got a taste of the good life, she just wanted to be spoiled. So, Carina and Ford are no longer step-siblings but Ford's dad still took care of Carina's finances because he loved her as his own daughter and he did still love her mother even still.
Ford has always wanted Carina from day one but was told by his dad not to pursue her when he caught Carina asleep in his bed one night when they were in high school. So Ford kept his distance and Carina hated him for it. Now Ford doesn't want to keep his distance and is always there when Carina is trying to hook up with someone and Ford chases them away. Carina doesn't want to jeopardize the relationship she has with Ford's dad and tries not to fall Ford's advances. But he is always playing Truth or Dare and Carina can't help but play and they get into some very spicy situations.
Is it just frenemies with benefits for them or is someone catching feelings?
There is a lot more to the story between Carina and her mother and also with Ford's dad and Carina. Let me just say that the way Ford has a dirty, delicious mouth on him and I am here for it!
I thought it was well written, college hockey romance. If you need a cute but spicy read, I would definitely recommend this book!

Carina and Ford
This was not my top or my bottom of this series.
I usually don't touch step-sibling romance.
This one was a bit different.
The truth or dare aspect is fun, especially when it gets spicy.
