I was impressed by the way most of the authors made me believe in the romantic connections in their stories in just a dozen or so pages. Romantic short fiction is such a challenge, you don't really have the time to build a whole relationship, especially not if you're also adding time travel into the mix!
I read this across just a few days and I do think it would be better to spread it out if you can, reading no more than a story a day, otherwise the similar themes in some of the stories can start to feel repetitive, as is the nature of an anthology with such a narrow and specific focus!
Moderate: Violence, Sexual content, Racial slurs, and Homophobia

i will say that the stories started off super strong and intriguing. pretty sure i read 100 pages in my first sitting. but as they went on, i felt less interested in some and found the ones with no, or little to none, dialogue quite boring.
i think it’s hard to rate a book with short stories. some stories i loved, others i couldn’t care less.
i will still give it 4 stars. the first four stories were probably some of my favorites.
Minor: Misogyny, Sexual content, Grief, and Homophobia

Sam J. Miller’s story includes a non-detailed gay bashing that happens off page. Ellen Klage’s story has the main character swept up in a 50s gay bar raid. This story is the reason I tagged SA and police brutality.schnaucl's review

There are some great stories here: my favourites were by Alix E. Harrow, Zen Cho, Sarah Gailey, Theodora Goss, Carrie Vaughn, and Lavanya Lakshminarayan. I’m happy to have read this collection because of those six favourite stories, I’d only read other work by the first three, so I’ve now found three more authors’ work to seek out more of (which is one of my favourite parts of reading anthologies).
I do appreciate that there is a lot of LGBTQ+ representation in this anthology, and some diversity in other respects as well. I also like that, overall, this collection has a fairly hopeful tone.
Thank you to NetGalley and Rebellion/Solaris for providing an ARC in exchange for this review.
