A good thriller to read as a palate cleanser between heavy books. However, it was not as I expected. It was fairly slow-paced for a thriller and spent a lot of time focusing on the characters with most of the plot complexity only happening in the final few chapters.

I recommend this book if you like:
-adult mystery
-following many different characters
-unforeseen twists and plot links

Four old uni friends reunite with their families in a French villa. Husbands may be straying, children may be up to no good but how is it all connected?
This book is all about a mother’s natural instinct to protect her own.

I thought that there were a lot of characters to keep track of and remember who was married to who but got there eventually. Karen suspected her husband of cheating with one of her uni friends who they were away on holiday with. She was determined to gather the evidence and deal with what was to follow.

I think this book could have been shorter / faster faced as really everything happens near the end. Although throughout the book it leaves breadcrumbs and builds a bigger picture of what is to come.
The shock of Izzy the friend falling down a gorge during a deliberate forest fire and dying and then finding out that there was no affair after all was shocking. I could not have predicted how the kids plotting and planning to do a hit and run on a child would lead to the adults texting and meeting in secret.

I would read more of T.M. Logan’s work and I am looking forward to watching the tv series now.

Yet another book by T.M Logan that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.

I did think the whole affair storyline was a bit boring and rather repetitive. I was more interested in Jennifer and her families storyline than Kate, who’s perspective we followed most of the time.

I didn’t expect the reveal at the end though - and I liked all the added backstory that came with it.

Overall, I enjoyed it. It was fast paced and gripping - the short chapters help with that as well!

This is my first t.m. logan book and it certainly won't be my last. I enjoyed all the twist and turns and didn't guess the ending.

The perfect holiday commences, your three best friends, your family and a beautiful villa to stay in all coming together to celebrate your 40th birthday - how perfect. But not everything is as it seems, previous events come to light at the end of this book that are quite hard to comprehend.

This was an excellent book. The chapters provided lots of suspense so I kept reading to find out what happened to Kate as she became more suspicious. The chapters were also quite short and snappy and provided different points of view for the reader to be able to knit the events of the holiday together.
