A sweet and reflective book for a younger audience. Kiki’s Delivery Service has a special place in my heart due to the Ghibli movie. I was surprised to find that the movies is not more closely aligned to the original story. The book focuses more on family and Kiki’s coming of age without adding the romance and losing her powers as main plot points like in the movie adaptation. I really enjoyed following Kiki’s heartfelt and light-hearted adventures and trials while watching her build her new life as a witch in a new city by the sea!

Although this novel is obviously aimed at an audience younger than myself, I still found it to be very relatable (after all, I have been 12/13 years old too!)
