This reminded me of early Coben. The kind where you can't put it down. I did think the solution was a little too neat and tidy so I knocked off a star, but the rest of the book was 5 stars.
This was my first Coben book and I was impressed and will check out more work by him. My only complaint about this book which held me back from giving it 5 stars is the main character breaking the narration of the story to talk to his dead brother as a way to give backstory to the reader. I personally felt that it distracting and unnecessary but other than that, I really enjoyed this book!
Comically terrible and dripping in testosterone. As if it was written by a sentient cigar.
I adore Harlan Coben novels but this wasn’t a favorite. Maybe they’re getting too predictable? Ordinarily I find the “ah ha!” moment in his books in those last 30 pages satisfying and surprising but this one just felt tired. I also had a hard time finding a character to root for, no matter how complicated, and support over the course of the book. I’m sure I’ll snatch up his next stand alone novel the day it comes out, but this one just didn’t do it for me.
My first Coben did not disappoint. I read most of this on a five-hour flight, audibly gasping at each twist (red-eye travelers be damned). Definitely for the crime/thriller lover.
As always, a great story that kept me on the edge of my seat, rooting for the hero, who could be any one of us!

This is my first book I've read from Harlan Coben, but it won't be my last! I enjoyed the writing, the pace and the twisty turns in everything before the truths came out at the end. I didn't guess what was going on before the reveal, which is always a plus in a well written book, in my opinion.
Now I have so much more to read from this author! No clue where to start lol

I really liked this book but not quite as much as I loved all H. Coben's other books. It was just a tad too slow. It is still a super good book. But I would rate this one as a tad weaker. Although, if this is your first Coben novel, you'll love it.

I liked this book and the story line but it moved a bit slow. The ending was a mix of what I expected happened and also being a bit surprised at the added small “twist” but it wasn’t an utterly shocking twist. Overall I liked the book but think it could have been a bit shorter.
