Fifteen years ago, Detective Nap Dumas’ twin brother and his girlfriend were found dead on the train tracks. Nap never believed the official line and had spent fifteen years wondering what really happened to them with basically nothing to go on. Now he receives an unexpected nudge in the right direction but the more he digs, the weirder and more dangerous it gets.

I love Harlan Coben’s writing style, particularly when I’m in need of something that will hold my attention. This one had me gripped from the start. I kind of love his quirk of having unusual names for his characters, Nap’s full name is Napoleon, I don’t think I’ve ever read one of his books without there being at least one unusual name in the mix.

This is one of his stand alone books but there is a cameo appearance from Myron Bolitar at a basketball game, which I liked. As a Stephen King fan I love little Easter eggs like this in books.

The case is interesting and there are some twists along the way but for a cop who has apparently been obsessing over his brother’s death for 15 years he had basically done nothing until the events of this book fell into his lap a bit.

That being said, I’m never disappointed with a Coben book. I was in need of something gripping and he delivered, as he always does. I really felt like I flew through it, his flow always leaves me wanting to read more. I lost count of the number of times I promised myself, just one more chapter!

Overall, an enjoyable and gripping thriller.

I've seen some of the Harlan Coben series on Netflix and enjoyed them so I've bought a few of his books and Don't Let Go is the first I've read. The book is a thriller/mystery with Detective "Nap" Dumas trying to figure out what happened to his brother and girlfiend's death 15 years ago as new murders are popping up that seem connected to it. Overall, this was a very enjoyable book. A no-nonsense thriller that kept me riveted while reading. I would have liked a little more dimension to each character. The book had a fairly predictable, all too neat wrap up.

Damn...2am and I need to get up early...curse you Harlan Cohen, curse you!

I read most of this book in one sitting, I had only read 50 pages before today. The writing itself isn't amazing, but the structure and characters were fantastic! I really could not put it down.

Rating 4.5

As typical with this author - I loved the pacing, the story and they way it weaves, and of course, all the twists & turns it takes. Well done overall!

My only little hang-up, and the reason for 1/2 a star deduction was the fact that there were some major elements left unaddressed at the end. I needed those things in order to walk away satisfied. I can't really explain them without spoiling some things.
mysterious tense

It doesn't pretend to be literature but I always love the sarcasm and witty banter found inside a Harlan Coben book. Another entertaining read.

Really just a 3.5 rounded up to a 4. Started out good and intriguing but the devolved into standard generic government conspiracy story.

Pretty much delivered as expected

Lot of plot - twisty turny. Especially interesting because of the New Jersey plotlines and missle sights and other stuff I could identify with.
