Wasn't too sure what to expect with this, got it in a mystery book box, but so glad I did.
Didn't quite have the 4 stars for me, but I enjoyed the plot twist, again did not expect this at all. The book leads you down one path but it is actually another...

This was a reasonably fast paced story. Nap needs to investigate his twin brother's death from 15 years ago and track down his missing girlfriend.
There's just something about a Harlan Coben story that I know I'm just going to love. There's a certain formula--something happens in the past with a group of teenagers and in the present-day timeline we start to discover what really happened all those years ago. Whether it be the books or the TV shows, it's just a formula that I know I enjoy and can see myself returning to over and over again.
Here we follow Nap who never quite got over the death of his twin brother Leo, and the disappearance of his then-girlfriend Maura. I found it interesting and a change of pace to have Nap dialoguing in the first person with his deceased brother. Nap, of course, was an intriguing character with a wicked sense of humor; I just loved how we knew Nap wasn't necessarily a "good" guy--there was lots of grey moral ground with him.
I found it fascinating how Coben used part of his own personal life, including the legends of a military base in his hometown. I never try to predict necessarily where the story is going and I certainly could not have done so with this story. While a bit far-fetching and with perhaps one too many twisty turns for me at the end, this book is still very solid in its story-telling and writing. It's another classic thriller done well for me.

Listened on Audiobook.
Started on promising, got really slow, then picked up at the end. I felt like I was justing waiting and waiting and waiting for things that never came
I did enjoy the suburban feel conspiracy of the book and it led you in a few different direction. Though, it was just too slow for me.

My first Harlen Coben book and I really liked the humor and the pacing. I listened on audio book and the narrator did a good job. There were several things about the story I wanted to change near the ending with all the twists and turns but over-all it was entertaining and I would try other books from this author in the future

Decent story. I liked the beginning and the end, but the middle was slow.
I received this copy from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
This is more like 3.5 stars to me - I enjoyed the whodunnit and suspense elements a lot, and wasn't quite sure throughout how it was going to play out which is always good.
The structure while worth it through the book is so confusing at the start that I was struggling. However, I did like the way it shows you know Nap thinks and how his views of the case change through the book. I also liked that you could see that he is a good investigator but in this case hot headed and often jumping to conclusions because he wants answers so much. I really enjoyed how that came across and made the two cases more alive as a result.
