By the end, I was getting a little uncomfortable at the idea that traditional  civilizations had it all figured out. It felt, sometimes, right at the edge of cultural appropriation. That being said, Weller's argument that we need to look and experience grief resonates. He puts words to the losses we all experience and offers some practical advice for how to be with ourselves and each other in grief.

The author is a psychotherapist who leads grief & retreat processes, particularly for men seeking a different way to be in the world. This book has many nuggets of wisdom and thoughts developed from many years of deep work with grief.
