guys i don't even know what to say.
i felt so much rage reading these three books but i loved them so much. it didn't really have the ending i hoped for mehmed's gory, detailed death but i was still relatively content overall. (the rage needs time to fade away. i'm too used to being angry reading this)
radu was about the only main character i cared about in the end. i am still mehmed's #1 hater, and lada and i... i cannot support THIS many wrongs.
but i thugged it out for nazira, radu, and cyprian. and GOSH was that worth it.

I have such mixed feelings about this final installment. I admire where Kiersten White decided to take the ending of the series, but at the same time I am heartbroken over the events leading up to it. This novel is not at all what I expected it to be, I'm not sure if I mean that in a good way or in a bad way.

Do you know what?? This book actually really surprised me by how much I enjoyed it!! I had a fantastic time reading this series and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. YA hasn't been hitting the spot for me lately but this one really was out of the box enough to capture my attention. I read the whole series quickly and I still think about it frequently a decent while after finishing it.

spectacular trilogy. i have not had as much fun with a fantasy trilogy in a while. lada in the end especially made me feel so many unexpected emotions and had me crying by the end of it all. there's just so many positive things i could go on and on saying about this series, from the positive portrayal of Islam and combining it with being gay, as well as the super strong characters of radu and lada. this was perfect for me, in every sense of the word. the conclusion was so perfect and how it all came to be was executed masterfully. kiersten white, i am in absolute awe. i need more series like this!
