I couldn't get past the fact they were so far apart in age and met when the younger was 10!!!!
The age difference is just too big for me. The two main characters have known each other since Ox was 16 and Joe was 10. They get together when Joe is 17 I think? It’s just too weird. When you’re 23 you’re not usually going to be romantically attracted to someone you’ve known since they were 10 :/

DEVASTATING. INCREDIBLE. BEAUTIFUL. Ox is one of my favourite main characters, he’s so relatable and good. Him and Joes relationship makes me want to cry, and seeing his growth throughout the book was so amazing. I loved this book.

Il mio primo libro di Klune e uno dei doni più belli mai ricevuti. Molto diverso da ciò che mi aspettavo per vibes, ma non per questo mi ha deluso, anzi. La trama, che sconoscevo, di per sé è semplice e si fonda sul consueto (e sempre apprezzato) scontro tra bene e male con conseguenti missioni, mentre è il modo in cui viene raccontata e vissuta ad essere particolare, ho trovato il tutto espresso in maniera poetica e profonda. Adoro come vengano descritti i pensieri, le sensazioni, le emozioni. Ma ciò che mi ha legato a questo romanzo (oltre al concept lupacchiottoso) è stato il modo in cui si raccontano e si vivono la famiglia e l’amore.

There are so many emotions throughout this book. I really do love Klune’s writing and how he can tell a story. There are characters that you just absolutely fall in love with. My only note is that you have to be prepared for long chapters. There are parts that tend to drag on, but honestly I enjoyed taking my time through this book. It was just a story that you rooted for the entire way.
