Misplaced love, stolen jewelry and a mystery involving a trunk that is…..brass bound.

My alternate title: The mystery of the two ND’s

Nancy, Bess and George are sailing to New York and run into a mystery even at sea. Nancy's trunk is confused with another, that isn't quite right. Cant they trust their South african roommate? Are there international jewel thieves on board? Can Nancy solve the mystery before they arrive in New York? "Finger talking," a suspicious steward and a mischevious little boy all add to the confusion.

Like all the others, this Nancy Drew is exciting. Not the best out there, but definitely a good and easy read.

I've read several of the "modernized" versions of these that are close in sequence and they're just nonsense. I suspect they were written by the same awful ghostwriter who thought lots of action was a good substitute for an actual mystery. It really isn't. This one wasn't as bad as the rewrite of the Moss Covered Mansion, but it's close. The best I can say is that Nancy doesn't do anything overtly idiotic in this one. Some of the others I have read really made me wonder how they expected anyone to believe she was intelligent.

So the whole meteorite thing in here is really weird. Otherwise it's a pretty decent book.

Nancy always gets her man! I love the wholesomeness of these books, as well as the feminine fun. For those who have enjoyed previous installments, you won't be disappointed with this latest mystery.

For those looking for a light pleasurable read, this is a great pick. It's not necessary to read the other stories in this series first, but I don't think this would be a good first book to read-many of the standard character set isn't present, and the setting is on a boat-the standard settings aren't present either.

This one SLAPPED. I effing love an old-timey ocean liner.
