Everyone needs a little bit of Nancy Drew in their lives. I loved this particular mystery when I was in elementary school...but it strangely vanished from the school library after the first time I read it and I never could get my hands on it again (the public library didn't have it either). I recently found it at a used book store, so it was time for a re-read.
I much prefer the writing style of the older Nancy Drews, before they were updated. (This one is the original 1940 version.) They are not written "down" to younger readers; they assume a little bit of intelligence. And they have that fun, old-fashioned flair to them.

The way they treated ASL was so weird, and of course, they love playing dress up with other cultures lol 🙃 The mystery was decent I guess, and the funny thing is Nancy had a lot of banter with other dudes that weren't Ned....literally what are they atp

Fun and exciting mystery while aboard a cruise ship. I liked Nelda and Rod and the mystery held my attention well. Enjoyable read.
Boring and odd. The audio version I have isn't the same as the ebook version I have but is the same version of the hardcover copy. Wonder what the ebook is of. Since they are going on a ship and it has to do with a trunk, but story is all wrong. One of my least favorites.
