Once you get past the deliberately jagged narrative and pull all the threads together, the book becomes a very simple and very sad story, made beautiful through lore, legends and fascinating stories.

This book took me a lot to get into. I’ve not read the other ‘helpful to know comic books.’ I was about halfway into it before I had the characters figured out.
I will say, a like for sci-fi is a must to read this book. In the end, I actually was aware of the story and characters (after much backwards movement), but wouldn’t go back to read it again.
