Always appreciate Erdrich's beautiful prose and her sense of humor. A lot of interesting themes but, as I usually do with her multigenerational novels, I really struggled to keep track of the characters and how they were related or connected to one another.

So, so good. I wanted to check this out after reading Stephen Graham Jones's The Only Good Indian (this novel was an inspiration for that one), and I'm so glad I did. The Antelope Wife is such a beautiful novel. Erdrich's writing is gorgeous. I highly recommend checking this out if you're a fan of generational novels with touches of 'magical realism.'

Interesting. Not the strongest I’ve read by Erdrich. Strong symbolism, as always.

Tangled, ferocious, and captivating -- this book took me by surprise. It lives on a magical razor edge between brutality and wandering, inescapable beauty. I read the revised edition from 2012; I'm also fascinated by the impulse to revisit and remake. In this case, I loved the "new" version of the book.

Elegant writing from the POV of a dog never hurts either.

I love erdrich's writing, but this is not a particularly accessible book. I picked it up for a reading challenge, but it's a bit too dark for me.

Erdrich is such a good writer, and I truly enjoyed the experience of listening to her narrate the audiobook. She has such an excellent sense of humor, and I like her characters. All that said, I don't know that this book was For Me. I didn't know what the heck was going on most of the time, but in a way that is probably my fault and not Erdrich's.
