This entire series is excellent but this story is by far my favorite. So SO well done! The narrator Kirt Graves does such an awesome job with his MA/New England/NY combo accent.

Layers upon layers upon layers. And in this book we get to peel them back one by one and expose the heart of the Green Creek series.
The writing is amazing, as always, in that perfect style I've come to associate with TJ Klune alone, and the story both sucker-punches you and hugs you with all its might.
While Carter is my favorite Bennett brother, Robbie is by far my favorite member of the Bennet Pack!! He is kind, considerate, awkward (adorably awkward), nerdy, wears glasses he doesn't need (which is explained in this book), and has a heart of gold. He's funny and smart. And he loves Kelly. Sweet sweet Kelly.
This book broke my heart but then healed it better again. And that's what brilliant writing should be able to do.
6 stars, easily.

This was an achingly beautiful continuation of TJ Klune’s Green Creek series that completely gutted me—in the best way. It’s a story that grabs hold of your heart and doesn’t let go, weaving themes of memory, identity, belonging, and love into every page.
Without giving anything away, this installment follows a quieter, more introspective path than the previous books, but its emotional impact is seismic. It’s about rediscovering who you are when everything you’ve known is taken from you, and how love—and family—can be both a compass and a home.
This book is devastating. There were moments I had to put it down just to breathe. But within the heartbreak is a tenderness that shines. Klune masterfully explores what it means to find strength in vulnerability, and how “home” is not just a place, but the people who anchor us.
If Wolfsong is about first love and Ravensong is about healing past wounds, Heartsong is about holding on—despite loss, despite fear, despite the unknown. It’s gut-wrenching and raw, but also filled with hope.
Prepare yourself emotionally. This book hurts—but it’s a necessary kind of hurt. One that makes you feel more alive for having experienced it.
